This commemorative volume, uniform with the Centennial Edition of the Major Writings of Rudolf Steiner, is published in honor of the Fifteenth Anniversary of the First Performance of this drama, and the One Hundredth Anniversary of the birth of its author. February 27, 1961

This volume also contains Thomas Carlyle's translation of Goethe's famous Fairy Tale of the Green Snake and the Beautiful Lily, and Steiner's commentary on it, titled The Nature of Goethe's Spirit. 

Illustrated by photographs from Goetheanum performances of the drama, and a facsimile of Steiner's handwriting.
